Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the family of the woman who died in Sultanpuri after being dragged by a car for nearly 12 km. Kejriwal, who has called the incident “shameful” and demanded strict action against the accused, also said the government would appoint the “best lawyer” to fight the case.
The Delhi CM also said that the cost of treatment of the Kanjhawala victim’s mother would be borne by the AAP government.
“Will get justice for Delhi’s daughter and will appoint best lawyer to fight the case. The victim’s mother is ill. The cost of her treatment will be borne by the Delhi government. Rs 10 lakh compensation will be paid to the victim’s family.
The government is with the victim’s family. We will also fulfill any need that arises in the future,” Kejriwal tweeted.
