In the latest case of misconduct on flights, a man has allegedly urinated on a woman passenger in the business class of a US-Delhi Air India flight. He has been booked and a police complaint has been launched. The incident took place on November 26, 2022, as reported by news agency ANI.
An Air India official told ANI, “Air India has constituted an internal committee in this incident and recommended to put the male passenger on ‘no-fly list’, the matter is under government committee and the decision is awaited.”
This comes in the wake of similar cases that happened mid-air. Prior to this, a flight broke out between passengers on a Bangkok-Kolkata flight. The video of the incident went viral. It showed two-three passengers raining punches on another passenger after a verbal altercation as the cabin crew tried to pacify the agitated passengers in vain.
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had informed that a police case had been filed against those involved in a scuffle onboard a Thai Smile Airways Bangkok-Kolkata flight. “With regard to the scuffle between passengers onboard a Thai Smile Airways flight, a police complaint has been filed against those involved. Such behaviour is unacceptable,” Scindia said in a tweet.
The minister’s comments came soon after aviation security watchdog, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), sought a report from the concerned authorities on the in-flight brawl which took place on a Bangkok-Kolkata flight of Thai Smile Airways in Bangkok. Taking serious cognizance of a video of the incident, which went viral on social media, BCAS sought a detailed report in the matter, sources said.
The video of the incident, which took place on December 26, showed two passengers engaged in a brawl even as the crew members and other passengers were trying to intervene.Even before this, another viral video showed a heated exchange of words between an air hostess and a passenger over meals.
The video left the internet divided as many sided with the air hostess and said some passengers were indeed unruly with the cabin crew and sometimes they must be given a befitting reply by the crew.
