Filmmaker-duo Raj and DK on Wednesday officially announced Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s association with their upcoming series Citadel. Raj and DK took to Twitter to share a stunning picture of Samantha and expressed their excitement over teaming up with the actor once again. Their tweet read, “Super excited to team up with this powerhouse once again! Welcome @Samanthaprabhu2 to the world of Citadel! Now filming .”
Samantha Ruth Prabhu will star alongside Bollywood star Varun Dhawan in Prime Video’s Indian Original Series within the Citadel franchise. Created by the maverick filmmaker duo Raj & DK, the under-production Original series will launch exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide
The streaming platform confirmed that the production is currently underway in Mumbai. After this, the unit will head to North India and then onwards to international locales like Serbia and South Africa.
Samantha too shared her first look from the series on her Instagram handle. Her caption read, “the mission is on ?
we have started rolling for the Indian instalment of Citadel.”
The untitled Indian adaptation of Citadel project will mark the second collaboration between the Pushpa actor and filmmaker-duo Raj and DK after Manoj Bajpayee’s highly-acclaimed web series The Family Man.

As previously announced, Richard Madden (Bodyguard) and Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Quantico) will star in the first-to-launch series within the Citadel universe, which comes from the Russo Brothers’ AGBO along with David Weil (Hunters) and is set to premiere in 2023.
Alongside Madden and Chopra Jonas, the first-to-launch Citadel series will also feature Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games saga). Additional local-language Citadel productions are also in the works, including an Italian Original series starring Matilda De Angelis (The Undoing).
